Guatemala City, by Yuliza Muñoz -AGN-. The Guatemalan Institute of Tourism -Inguat- invited people to enjoy, live, and know the traditions of the country through the digital guide El Pregón, in which the richness of this time is exposed, especially Lent and Holy Week.

This important digital guide offers:

  • directory of tourist services

Digital guide

The guide can be downloaded from the web page www.inguat.gob.gt or by scanning the QR code on the posters distributed in Guatemala City, Antigua Guatemala, Quetzaltenango, Alta Verapaz, and Totonicapán.

According to Inguat, this information was adapted to a friendly mobile device version to facilitate downloading for each user.

Promotion of Holy Week

Inguat seeks to develop plans to promote Holy Week, an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The authorities are seeking to take action to make known every detail of the season and for visitors to share with more people the treasures of the country, considering that this time represents one of the busiest seasons for the tourism sector.

This season has registered high demand due to religious and recreational activities that allow people to travel nationally and internationally.

Therefore, Inguat has prepared a series of strategies to provide travelers with the required assistance before, during, and after the season. It prioritizes domestic and foreign tourists’ assistance, information, and safety.
