The Global Fund reaffirms support to health programs in Guatemala 

Global Fund representatives met with the Minister of Health, Oscar Cordón, to analyze cooperation programs.

Guatemala City, by Isaac Ramirez -AGN- Representatives of the Global Fund held a meeting with Minister of Public Health and Social Assistance, Oscar A. Cordón Cruz, and the Vice Minister, Cesar Roberto Conde, to reaffirm their commitment to support programs and projects of health in benefit of the Guatemalan population. 

During the meeting, Serena Buccini, Fund Portfolio Manager, stated that these agreements contribute to the financing of national response programs against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

She also emphasized the joint efforts between the government and civil society, the private sector, and the affected communities.  

Buccini reported that the Global Fund is working with the World Health Organization -WHO- and the Pan American Health Organization -PAHO-

Meetings with organizations

Delia Prera, in charge of the National and International Cooperation Unit of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance -MSPAS-, explained that a series of meetings will be held at the facilities of the Ministry of Health to continue with the support of the Global Fund.

MSPAS works jointly with national and international organizations and manages the support to guarantee the best comprehensive health service to the Guatemalan population.

These actions comply with the constitutional mandate to guarantee this basic service for citizens.
