Guatemala City, by Jenny Herrera -AGN-. President Bernardo Arévalo’s administration, addressing the mutual interest expressed by the United States in promoting greater economic cooperation between the two countries, participated in the forum “A new era for US-Guatemala economic relations” held by the Fundación para el Desarrollo de Guatemala -Fundesa- and the Atlantic Council, which gathered businessmen interested in increasing investment in the country.
Juan Carlos Paiz, President of Fundesa, and Jason Marczak, Vice President and Senior Director, Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, Atlantic Council, attended the forum.

According to Jason Marczak, President Bernardo Arévalo’s administration marks a promising era of positive transformation for Guatemala, setting the stage for significant investment and partnership opportunities.
Marczak mentioned that the economic dialogue between the United States and Guatemala represents a great opportunity. This dialogue shows the progress made to strengthen economic ties among the countries.
This is an opportunity to support greater actions; Guatemala has the possibility of a prosperous future and counts on the commitment of an international organization.
Strengthening
Juan Carlos Paiz declared that Guatemala is strengthening its relationship with the United States. He affirmed, “We are working together with the program “Creando oportunidades económicas” (Creating Economic Opportunities) to promote laws, such as the Law of Road Infrastructure, which is pending its third debate in the Congress of the Republic, and the work with the different ministers of Economy, Finance, Foreign Affairs, and Communications to generate projects that increase the formation, fixed capital, foreign investment, and the number of jobs in the country.
