International Media Highlights Guatemala as a Fitur Partner Country

The International Tourism Fair of Madrid -Fitur- started on Wednesday, January 18, until Sunday 22, with Guatemala as the partner country. The country was promoted under its Country Brand: Guatemala, amazing and unstoppable.

Guatemala impresses with its station,  which promotes more than three thousand years of cultural richness to the world having the opportunity to showcase the variety of destinations and gastronomy it offers, a combination of contemporary and colonial heritage. It also displays how people enjoy adventure entertainment, nature, sports,  health, and wellness.

President Giammattei toured the station in the presence of  King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain. During the activity, the Guatemalan president expressed the importance of being invited to participate as a partner country on this occasion and what this represents for Guatemala.

These opportunities will help to promote tourism and trade and strengthen relations between both nations,  thus, capturing the interest of future visitors to Guatemala.

  • Tikal National Park
  • Chichicastenango
  • Pacaya Volcano

  • Río Dulce National Park
  • Semuc Champey National Monument
  • Tak’alik Ab’aj Archaeological Park

 The celebration of Holy Week was also showcased after its addition to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
