Guatemala City, by Yuliza Muñoz -AGN-. The Ministry of Economy -Mineco- announced that a group of 18 women entrepreneurs received a workshop focused on product marketing.
The beneficiaries are women from the municipality of Parramos, Chimaltenango. The activity was carried out through Mineco’s Economic Revitalization Office in the department. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food is also supporting these actions.
Mineco explained that it plans to continue training this group of women entrepreneurs on trade-related topics to continue improving the quality of their products, supporting their economic development and growth, and obtaining greater profits for their well-being and that of their families.
Support for Women Entrepreneurs
Mineco has taken several actions to support entrepreneurs, especially women. In this regard, with the support of the Government of Guatemala and joint efforts with international cooperating partners such as the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), initiatives such as Economic Recovery and Women’s Empowerment -Canac- have been launched.
Mineco has worked closely with the Republic of China (Taiwan) authorities and invested at least USD 4.33 million to support women entrepreneurs in Guatemala.
The program has benefited businesswomen and women entrepreneurs who participate in different activities to develop business knowledge and skills.
Different government agencies run programs for women entrepreneurs, including training, product exhibition spaces, credit, and other training to improve women’s capabilities.
