Guatemala City, by Jenny Herrera -AGN-. The first transition meeting of the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency -SCSP- was led by Kevin López Oliva, Press Secretary; María Consuelo Ramírez, Secretary General of the Presidency; and Erick Sagastume, Deputy Secretary of Social Communication. Ambassador Diego Paz, representing the Organization of American States -OAS-, attended the meeting where the institution’s results were presented to the team appointed by the elected government.
The elected government team included Lourdes Hércules, Ignacio Laclériga, and Lesbia Juárez.
This meeting aimed to present the SCSP results to the elected government representatives, showcase the transition office and clarify doubts. During the meeting, Secretary Kevin Lopez said:
“The Secretariat has two important pillars: the administrative and the substantive, for which we have shown the fulfillment of the goals and fundamental achievements with data. It has also advised, empowered, and supported the different institutions of the Executive branch in implementing communication and government policy.”
Moreover, the secretary addressed different topics, among them:
- Legal frameworks
- Progress and achievements
- Challenges faced
In the end, the elected government members asked questions to resolve their doubts, as well as the tour of the transition office.
According to the Press Secretary, “We received at the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency Lourdes Hercules, Ignacio Laclériga, and Lesbia Juárez, who the elected team has appointed, and who came to receive information to enhance their knowledge of the secretariat.”
In this way, the first transition meeting of the SCSP concluded in compliance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Alejandro Giammattei, to provide an orderly and transparent process.
