The Public Ministry, through the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office for Drug Trafficking Crimes, directed the investigation of the scene after locating an aircraft that was transporting illegal goods and landed in the community of Nuevo Amanecer, San Andrés, Petén.
During the investigation carried out on Sunday, February 19, in coordination with the National Police and the Guatemalan Army, a total of 21 bundles were found, containing 441 packages with allegedly positive content for cocaine, according to the field test.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the seized items have an estimated value of approximately USD 5.9 million.
