Guatemala City, by Jenny Rivera -AGN- The government of President Alejandro Giammattei underscored the achievements made throughout the first week of the year. This is to ensure the condition of the services that benefit the citizens.
President Giammattei visited the department of Escuintla on January 5 to benefit 508 senior citizens. The Economic Contribution Program for Older Adults -PAM-, supported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare -Mintrab-, has surpassed the 212,000 beneficiaries of the program.
The authorities of the Ministry of Education -Mineduc- and the president held a graduation ceremony for the Academic Program for Professional Development. Mineduc also shared the ministerial agreements establishing the 2024 school calendar.
On its official account, the Government of Guatemala mentioned, “The Government of President Alejandro Giammattei continues to implement actions to benefit thousands of Guatemalans.”
Authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs -Minex-, the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency, and the Guatemalan Institute of Social Security signed a Memorandum of Understanding to benefit Guatemalan migrants and their families.

The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction -CONRED- presented the Official Annual Recovery Report 2023 and the Annual National Recovery Plan 2024. The event focused on sharing the achievements of Conred and other agencies.
Finally, the Ministry of Finance leaves a cash balance, mainly from tax collection and other balances of public agencies, to start in 2024. The money will be ready to be used from the first day of the next administration.
With these actions, the government of President Alejandro Giammattei does not stop and reiterates its commitment to comply with the people of Guatemala.
