Guatemala City, by Veylin Herrera -AGN.- Grupo Financiero Bantrab and Tigo Money signed an agreement to create new opportunities for financial inclusion for the population and to benefit entrepreneurs.

According to the Ministry of Economy -Mineco- through this agreement, Guatemalans in the entrepreneurship sector will have more and better tools.

Likewise, it reaffirms that these are actions that the government has prioritized for the promotion of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises -MSMEs-.

Therefore, the Government of Guatemala and Mineco support this alliance, which seeks financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and savings promotion.

About the Agreement

Through this strategic alliance, Guatemalans will have mobile financial services through an electronic wallet.

The system will allow the population to make transactions from their accounts, sending money to anyone with a device through Tigo Money.

Users will avoid using cash and save time in carrying out their transactions.

Both companies emphasized that this joint effort expects to achieve the financial inclusion of 56% of adults who still lack financial products and services in the country.

Mineco highlighted that one of  the benefits of this union is that the system allows the participation of entrepreneurs and business persons of MSMEs seeking to capitalize on  new financial services.

In the same way, it will benefit the stakeholders in entrepreneurship development in Guatemala, the inclusion promotion, employment generation, and prosperity for the economic sector.

As a result, the authorities emphasize that this alliance benefits Guatemalans by having more development opportunities.
