Guatemala City, by AGN – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that relations with Guatemala are a bridge for all of Latin America, according to a report published by Ukrinform.
On Monday, the Ukrainian head of state received the Guatemalan President, who expressed his solidarity with the people of this European country for the suffering caused by attacks during to this war.
“The visit of the President of Guatemala to Kyiv took place today, the first in all the years of our independence. And we not only receive full support from this Latin American state, but our relations with it become a bridge to the entire Latin American region,” Zelenskyy said, his remarks were reported by Ukrinform.

Several international media have highlighted this meeting held by President Giammattei, who has emphasized that this historic visit reaffirms Guatemala’s full support and gives a strong message to the nations.
In this regard, he pointed out the importance of peace and harmony among nations instead of confrontation.
“We are appalled by the pain and devastation in Ukraine, which I witnessed when I visited the places where the horrors of confrontation occurred. We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who have resisted with courage,” the president expressed on social networks.

The visit of President Giammattei is applauded by several embassies in Guatemala.
Such is the case of the U.S. Embassy, which states: “We applaud the efforts of the government of Guatemala’s efforts to support the right of Ukrainians to live in peace through actions such as being the first Latin American country to make a presidential visit to Ukraine since the Russian invasion.
