Guatemala City, Brenda Larios -AGN- President Alejandro Giammattei congratulated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its 177th anniversary and the commemoration of Guatemalan Diplomat’s Day.
President Giammattei expressed his recognition of the Guatemalan diplomats’ commitment to service and unwavering love for our homeland in his address. He also emphasized that, as ambassadors of our nation, they represent Guatemala globally.
The President also highlighted how their tireless work and dedication have been fundamental in promoting Guatemala’s interests, strengthening international relations, and elevating the image of our country around the world.
Commitment
The President’s statement emphasized that for 177 years, the Foreign Ministry and its staff have faced challenges and obstacles, demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination, and urged them to refer to themselves as true defenders of Guatemalan sovereignty.
President Giammattei acknowledged that our nation’s diplomats have worked tirelessly to protect the rights and interests of Guatemalan citizens abroad by providing consular assistance and support in difficult times and that their outstanding commitment to service has made a lasting impression on the Guatemalan community abroad.
He also noted that their diplomatic efforts have been essential in promoting economic development, international cooperation, and world peace by working closely with other countries and organizations to find joint solutions to global challenges, thus representing the values and principles defended in Guatemala.
