Guatemala City -AGN. – The National Civil Police -PNC- preliminarily reports the location of an aircraft and two boats which contain several packages of suspected drugs.
According to police authorities, the site of this operation is El Semillero beach, Tiquisate, Escuintla.
César Mateo, PNC sub-inspector, indicated that the operation is still in progress and the PNC will provide more information later.
Investigation
The PNC underscores that these results are part of the inter-institutional work in the fight against drug trafficking.
Due to the discovery of the airplane and the ships, the investigation processes are being carried out in the area. The authorities emphasize that information will be provided soon.
The Fight
The fight against drug trafficking by the government of Guatemala has allowed the execution of operations in the country, resulting in the seizure of large amounts of drugs and marking a heavy blow to criminal structures.
Among these actions is the location of a semi-submersible vessel in Pacific waters in which more than 2 tons of cocaine were seized.
