Guatemala City, by Yuliza Muñoz -AGN- Approximately 600 scholarships with more than 40 study options in 13,000 educational centers in different countries are the opportunities offered by the Secretariat of Planning and Programming of the Presidency -Segeplan- during the 22nd edition of the National Scholarship Fair.

The fair, which will conclude on December 8, began with a ceremony attended by authorities from different government institutions.

The Secretary of Segeplan, Luz Keila Gramajo Vilchez, invited the Guatemalan population to visit the fair and learn about the offers available to strengthen their academic capacities. She stated in her address, “Today we are inaugurating the Miguel Angel Asturias Cultural Center fair, and it will be available until December 8. We invite you to visit all the stands. We hope these days will be very profitable and that the whole population attends and becomes informed so that the number of the 23 thousand scholarship holders we already have abroad doubles.”

Opportunities

According to Segeplan, it has coordinated with more than 17 corporations to manage the scholarships. At the fair, Guatemalans can find opportunities to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and short specialization courses.

Vilchez added that these actions reflect the efforts promoted by President Alejandro Giammattei to improve the population’s quality of life. She mentioned, “In December alone, 600 scholarships are available for bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and short specialization courses. This scholarship fair will be organized hand in hand with more than 17 cooperating partners. We have done this work as President Giammattei’s team to share all the scholarship offers with interested people.”

This year’s scholarship fair cooperates with countries like the Republic of China (Taiwan), Japan, and Australia and institutions such as Formato Educativo, Guatefuturo, Natural English, and Anáhuac Holberton.
