Migration Facilitated Over 1,000 Migratory Control Forms for Cruise Ships Tourists

Guatemala City, by Brenda Larios -AGN- Two cruise ships recently arrived in Puerto Quetzal, Escuintla, with more than a thousand passengers who were helped with immigration control forms supporting the country’s tourism.

In a press release, the Guatemalan Migration Institute -IGM- announced,  “1,328 foreigners visited different places in the country and stayed over 10 hours in Guatemalan territory.”

Migration authorities work with the Guatemalan Tourism Institute -Inguat- to attract more tourists to visit Guatemala’s attractions.

Cruise ships

The Guatemalan Institute of Migration personnel also carried out passenger controls on the Seven Seas Mariner with 605 travelers and 723 in the Seven Seas Grandeur. 

Previous season

The 2022-2023 cruise ship season registered the arrival of 65 ships from October 2022 to July 2023.

Forty-one cruise ships arrived at Port Quetzal and another 24 at Santo Tomás de Castilla, resulting in 79,854 passengers and 43,099 crew members.

  • Santo Tomás de Castilla
