Guatemala City, by Veylin Herrera -AGN-. The Guatemalan Tourism Institute -Inguat- recognized the Hanseatic Inspiration cruise from the Hapag-Lloyd line for its visit to the country.
Inguat emphasized that the visit cruises to Guatemala represent an opportunity to benefit and develop the local economy.
Furthermore, it strengthens the efforts of the authorities to present the country’s tourist attractions to the world and be recognized internationally.
For that reason, on the first visit of this cruise, Inguat, in conjunction with the Quetzal Port Company, presented a commemorative plaque to the captain.

According to the authorities, the Hanseatic Inspiration cruise has the capacity to sail with 204 passengers and 170 crew members.
During their visit to Guatemala, people on board had the opportunity to visit various tourist destinations in the country, such as:
- Pacaya Volcano
- Auto Safari Chapin
- Antigua Guatemala
- Monterrico Beach
- Coffee and macadamia farms
Including other destinations that allowed visitors to explore some of the cultural richness that characterizes the country.
Boosting the Economy
Inguat has stated on several occasions that it works jointly with the tourism sector to ensure that visitors’ stay is enjoyable.
Likewise, there is an action plan that allows the visit time to be fruitful so that foreigners can appreciate the country’s natural and cultural beauty.
This ensures that national services such as tour operators, hotels, restaurants, tour guides, and artisans, among others, benefit from tourism.
By doing so, it is expected that the sector will have a significant economic recovery after the restrictions imposed by COVID-19.
