Guatemala City, by Yuliza Muñoz -AGN. Guatemala participated in Berlin’s International Tourism Fair -ITB-The fair gathered thousands of exhibitors from at least 180 countries and thousands of other visitors. During the event, the Guatemalan stand highlighted the country’s beauty.
Travelers and business executives learned about Guatemala’s cultural wealth through a space that showcased 11 tourism segments and destinations. Guatemala seeks to become one of the main destinations in the region.
As a positioning strategy, Guatemala’s cultural richness colored many places in Berlin, such as the Brandenburg Gate and Museum Island.
According to the Guatemalan Tourism Institute -Inguat-, the main Guatemalan attractions promoted at the fair included:

About the Fair
The Berlin International Tourism Fair took place on March 7, 8, and 9 in Germany and gathered more than 10,000 exhibitors to present their products and services.
Every March, thousands of people from around the world arrive at the fair to learn about the participating countries’ services and tourism packages. It is a commercial support strategy for the tourism sector.
Participants attended communication and marketing forums to acquire new experiences and put them into practice to strengthen tourism in their regions.
