Guatemala Showcased Its Cultural Richness in the United Arab Emirates

The country participated for the first time in the Arabian Travel Market.

Guatemala City, by Yuliza Muñoz -AGN- Guatemala partook in the Arabian Travel Market in the United Arab Emirates.

A small Guatemalan delegation attended the event from May 1 to May 4 to promote the country as one of the best destinations in the region.

According to the Guatemalan Tourism Institute -Inguat- authorities, this represented a new opportunity for the country by opening a new market for travelers. Consequently, the best offers and services reach potential buyers.

Representatives of Inguat, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Guatemalan Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, represented Guatemala, as well as:  

  • Mayan Gateway
  • San Pedro Spanish School

Visitors to Guatemala’s booth could taste and learn more about the country’s cultural and natural richness as a privileged tourist destination.

Participants also enjoyed a taste of Guatemalan coffee through Guatemalan Coffees and a performance by Inguat’s folkloric ballet.

About the Arabian Travel Market

It is the most important tourism fair in the Middle East, and this year it was in its 30th edition, with more than 3,000 products from over  300 exhibitors from over 52 countries.

Roughly 7,000 professional visitors attended this edition. For this reason, it is highlighted as one of the travel and tourism events that increase the commercial potential of this region for inbound and outbound tourism professionals.
