City of Guatemala, -AGN- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs -Minex- announced the opening of a new Consulate General in Nashville, Tennessee, United States.
According to the Ministry, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Geovani Castillo attended the inauguration of the new consular unit on October 30. The event also featured the participation of the Mayor of Nashville, Freddie O’Connell, who expressed his satisfaction with this new consular mission.
The new Consulate General will serve over 72,000 Guatemalan nationals residing in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
Consular Services
Vice Minister Castillo informed that the new consular office will provide documentation, registration, and consular protection services, among others.
In compliance with President Alejandro Giammattei’s instructions, Guatemala now has 25 consulates in the United States to bring consular services closer to the Guatemalan migrant community.
Consulate Number 24
Last Saturday, the official also participated in the inauguration of the Consulate General of Guatemala in Omaha, Nebraska. Around 52,000 Guatemalans reside in that state.
The Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide documentation services, various registrations, guidance, and consular protection through this consular office. Additionally, Guatemalans in Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota can schedule appointments to receive assistance.
