Guatemala City, by Yuliza Muñoz -AGN-. Guatemala is ready to participate in the International Tourism Fair -Fitur- 2024 of the World Tourism Organization -UNWTO-
The Guatemalan Tourism Institute -Inguat- announced that the country will be present at this important fair that gathers different nations to exchange experiences on tourism and create alliances to attract investment.
Fitur will be held in Madrid, Spain, from January 24 to January 28. This year, Ecuador will be the partner country. Guatemala will also be able to showcase its culture, gastronomy, and tourist sites, making it unique in the region.
In this year’s edition, the fair expects 8 thousand enterprises, 136 thousand tourism professionals, and 86 thousand attendees during the four days.
International Tourism Fair
Fitur is an annual convention for international tourism professionals to meet and create strategic alliances. It is aimed at inbound and outbound markets in Ibero-America.
Countries promote their brands, new products and learn about trends to put them into practice in their region.
Touristic goals
The new tourism authorities have emphasized that their goal is to position Guatemala as one of the favorite destinations in Latin America and the most memorable destination in the central region.
This administration plans to promote alliances with local communities, governments, entrepreneurs, and tourism operators to improve tourism areas.
The authorities recognize that Guatemalan tourism should be valued and considered as one of the pillars of economic development, attracting investment, generating employment, and creating opportunities for the population.
