Guatemala City, by -AGN- The Ministry of Economy and the National Competitiveness Program participated in Connect Guatemala Investment Summit 2023 opening.
Entrepreneurs from the service and BPO sectors attended the two-day event. This summit is the most important investment event for the BPO, ITO, Software Development, and other service industries.
The activity discusses various topics related to software development, telecommunications, and service centers, among others.
Privileged Location
According to Invest Guatemala, the country is a leading and ideal location for BPO and CC services. Of all the goods produced in Central America, 40% are manufactured in Guatemala. As investment increases, partnership opportunities, a strong ecosystem, and tax incentives are ensured in the country.
The annual investment events such as the one mentioned above show their unique culture and showcase growing business companies and a highly qualified and innovative workforce.
In the first talk, the Director of Business Development and Marketing of TELUS International, Sebastián Bulanti, presented Progress and Transformation: a historical look at the service sector in Guatemala Sustainability Protocol for the BPO and Contact Center sector.
Services Sector
Sergio López, Director of Trade and Investment Services of the Ministry of Economy, discussed Exploring Special Regimes: Boosting the Development of the Services Sector.
Eduardo Arevalo, Director of Talent and Recruitment at Teleperformance, spoke about Connecting with the World: Global Trends and Guatemala as a hub for growth in the services sector.
Experts conducted several panels that discussed the following topics:
- Guatemala, developing talent in technology.
- Building the Digital Future: Developing technology talent and attracting sophisticated sectors to Guatemala.
Investment opportunities and economic issues, among other topics, were discussed during the summit. These activities reinforce Guatemala’s potential as an excellent local and foreign investment location.
