Guatemala. The Governments of Guatemala and the United States, with the support of the International Organization for Migration -IOM- and the UN Refugee Agency -UNHCR-, are promoting the Safe Mobility pilot program for six months to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration and access to protection mechanisms.
From June 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. (Guatemala time) Guatemalans and citizens of the other countries included in the Central American Free Mobility Agreement known as CA4 – El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua – will be able to fill out an application from their countries through the digital platform https://movilidadsegura.org/, free of charge, to learn about the different opportunities to migrate regularly to the U.S. and other countries.
The applicants will then be notified to continue the process if they qualify for one of the legal pathways. It is important to consider that applying on the website does not guarantee the approval of a legal pathway to migrate.
With the launch of the Secure Mobility trial program, the Governments of Guatemala and the United States of America, with the support of the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, reaffirm their commitment to promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration, preventing people from being exposed to different scams and dangers that may violate their rights.
