Guatemala City, by Brenda Larios -AGN- The minister of foreign affairs of Guatemala had a telephone conversation with the minister of foreign affairs of the State of Israel to address topics on the bilateral agenda.
On behalf of the people and the government of Guatemala, Minister Búcaro extended sincere congratulations on the 75th anniversary of Israel’s independence.
The foreign ministers strengthened bilateral relations on important topics such as tourism, investment, and academic cooperation.
75th Anniversary
During the conversation, they also highlighted the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It is evidence of the excellent ties of friendship between Guatemala and Israel, characterized by their strength and dynamism.
The foreign ministers agreed to undertake activities to commemorate the anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. They also agreed to promote joint strategies for cooperation and investment advancement.
Flag Raising
The Embassy of Guatemala and the countries that established their embassies in the Israeli capital participated in the flag-raising ceremony for Jerusalem Day. The event commemorated the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel.
Bilateral Relations
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, both countries recognize that bilateral relations have been distinguished by extraordinary political dialogue and cooperation.
“As partners and allies, we value the efforts deployed in cooperation in agriculture and water resources, science and technology, education and health, as well as other areas of mutual benefit,” states the official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Likewise, relations between the two nations have grown with prospects of increasing in the economic, trade, and investment areas.
Guatemala and Israel share common values and interests, reaffirming the solid level of understanding and existing fraternity among them.
