Guatemala City, by -AGN- The Secretariat of Social Works of the President’s Wife -SOSEP- continues to deliver groceries to families in the Hogares Comunitarios Program.
Parents must be present at the different centers nationwide to receive the delivery.
Food Supplies
The purpose is to guarantee well-balanced and high-quality nutrition for Guatemalan beneficiaries. Each food serving contains products such as:
- Basic grains
- Vegetables
- Fruits
- Cereals
- Incaparina (A High Protein beverage with corn and soy flour)
- Oil
- Milk
- Sugar
- Eggs
The SOSEP reported that each food supply corresponds to 20 days of classes. The Executive Branch meets with one of its priorities: to reinforce children’s integral development in poverty.
The Project
The Hogares Comunitarios Program aims to facilitate the comprehensive development of children from socioeconomically vulnerable families. Assisting the children helps mothers become involved in productive activities to generate income and support the household economy.
Mothers appreciated this aid and highlighted the benefit of knowing their children are safe while they work.
During the pandemic, SOSEP continued to assist children in the 22 departments of the country, supporting their physical, educational, and emotional development.
