Chiquimula, by Karla Peralta -AGN- In Chiquimula, the Secretariat for Women’s Affairs -Seprem- and the Executive Coordination Secretariat of the Presidency held the ordinary Departmental Women’s Commission meeting.
The authorities shared the National Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence against Women -Planovi- 2020-2029.
The Planovi has two strategic actions:
- Implementing the National Promotion and Comprehensive Development of Women, Planovi, and other public policy initiatives related to equity between men and women.
- Monitoring the performance of the National Policy for the Promotion and Comprehensive Development of Women, Planovi, and other public policy initiatives related to equity between men and women.
Goals
The goals of this committee include expressing opinions and developing topics and projects related to the comprehensive development of women of each regional department.
It is also necessary to analyze and monitor indicators related to women’s participation in decision-making processes.
One of the objectives is to promote the implementation of the National Policy for the Promotion and Comprehensive Development of Women and the 2008-2023 Equal Opportunity Plan in the country.
Coordinated Work
The Secretariat of Executive Coordination of the Presidency participated in the ordinary meeting.
The delegates discussed the Law of Urban and Rural Development Councils and the Regulations. This meeting focused on decentralization processes, highlighting the importance of a gender approach.
The authorities also stressed the importance of organizing and coordinating the public administration.
It seeks citizen participation and councils of the community, municipal, departmental, regional, and national.
They also emphasized the decentralization process’s impact on promoting local economic development.
Finally, these actions aim to improve the population’s quality of life by bringing public services provided by the public administration closer to them inefficiently.
